Middle Ages: Societies, Powers and Images

The course will be a moment of reflection on the methodology of historical research on the Middle Ages in tripod theory, sources and historiography. It will also discuss themes related to Iberian societies in the Early Middle Ages, with emphasis on discussions on the articulations established between the various spheres of power and the multiple representations of social imaginaries. It will discuss the fruitful dialogue of History with Anthropology and Sociology and the relations of power in Iberian royalty, in the Portuguese, Catalan and Castilian experiences.
