Objectives

The main objectives of the History Graduate Program are:

a) To produce highly relevant historical knowledge;

b) To prepare highly qualified personnel;

c) To create conditions for the improvement of scientific capacity building in History with a view to preparing teachers and researchers and strengthening the bond between teaching and research;

d) To stimulate the elaboration and execution of research projects with an emphasis on the Program’s areas of concentration and lines of research;

e) To review and map documental sources to facilitate the development of research in the field of History;

f) To stimulate interdisciplinary reflection, inter-institutional activities and academic exchanges that foster the development of History research.

In general terms, the PPGH’s overriding goal is to constitute a center of excellence for qualifying top-level teachers and researchers.
