Laboratory of History of Ideas, Knowledge and Historiography (LHISH)

The creation of the Laboratory of History of Ideas, Knowledge and Historiography (LHISH) concretizes, around a space of interlocution, the interests of sharing and strengthening of the research efforts made by the professor-researchers of the Post-Graduate Program in History of the College of History of the UFG.

It is the invention of a plural space of production of knowledge mediated by a set of real interests of reflection that historically approach a series of professors of the College of History : the writing of history; the nature of historical knowledge and its theoretical and methodological problems; epistemological problems arising from the modalities of relationship between history and other subjects and knowledges, such as philosophy, sociology, anthropology, literature, cinema and the arts in general; the history of thought and science; the history of historical science and historiography; the emergence and status of new objects of historical analysis; the crisis of paradigms and the emergence of new problems in current historiography; the history of historical research practice and work; the status of the notion of document and the notion of archive in historical science. The axes that articulate these themes can be observed in the production of LHISH participants, demonstrating the organicity of the projects and the activities developed by them over the last years.

LHISH's professors are Carlos Oiti Berbet Júnior, Cristiano Alencar Arrais, Eugênio Rezende de Carvalho, Fabiana de Souza Fredrigo, Libertad Borges Bittencourt, Luiz Sérgio Duarte da Silva, Marlon Jeison Salomon and Ulisses do Valle.

Teaching, Research and Extension Laboratory (LEPEHIS)

The Laboratory for Teaching, Research and Extension in History (LEPEHIS) is a large multi-user space, resulting from the merger of two other laboratories, the former LAPHIS (Laboratory for Research in History) and LEHIS (Laboratory for Teaching History), which has an exclusive physical space of 253 m². This laboratory has an air-conditioned environment and comfortable infrastructure for carrying out researches, and can be used by undergraduates and Graduate students together. It has a document collection - becoming more and more a documentation center every day - and equipment (sanitizing table, professional scanner, microfilm reader and others).

LEPEHIS is characterized by actions focused on Teaching, Research and Extension, offering resources such as workshops, lectures and mini courses for students at the College of History and professors of elementary and high schools in the field of History teaching. It is responsible for establishing partnerships and agreements with other institutions focused on research and events primarily in the area of History. It is a space for research and organization of events at and in the College of History.

The Laboratory has tripartite coordination: the research coordination is exercised by Prof. Dr. Armênia Maria de Souza, the extension coordination by Prof. Dr. Ana Lúcia Oliveira Vilela and the teaching coordination by Prof. Dr. Maria Lemke.

Laboratory of Studies on the Roman Empire (LEIR-GO)

The Laboratory of Studies on the Roman Empire (LEIR), constituted in 2008 at USP by Prof. Dr. Norberto Luiz Guarinello, expanded its relations through the proposal of a section in Goiás, together with the College of History. LEIR-GO aims to gather students, professors and researchers interested in developing studies about the Roman Empire. The professors of PPGH, Ana Teresa Marques Gonçalves and Luciane Munhoz de Omena coordinate the activities of LEHIR, which hosts the research of professors and students of PPGH. LEIR is linked to researchers from other institutions, enabling collective publications and the dissemination of the Program's intellectual production, through the work of professors and graduate students integrated to the laboratory.

Medieval Studies Laboratory (LEME-UFG)

The Laboratory of Medieval Studies (LEME) was created by a partnership between USP and UNICAMP professors in 2005 (see: http://leme.vitis.uspnet.usp.br/). It has brought together professors, researchers and graduate students to develop studies in the area of Medieval History, as well as to establish dialogue with foreign historians and research centers. In 2008, LEME underwent an expansion and, since 2009, has had the participation of Dr. Adriana Vidotte in its Deliberative Council. This participation motivated the institutionalization of LEME at UFG.
